It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to Our Lady Help of Christians School, Earlville. For over 50 years, parents and carers have sought an education for their sons and daughters at OLHOC in the Sisters of Mercy tradition. We are a thriving co-educational community with strong values, outstanding facilities and exceptional academic outcomes.
Guided by the Gospel passage of John 10:10, where Jesus said: “I have come that you may have life in all its fullness” OLHOC is a distinctive Catholic community that is committed to provide a quality learning environment that challenges all members of our community to make the world a better place. We are a community that works in partnership with parents and carers to grow intelligent, caring, passionate, socially-just citizens of the future who have faith in their hearts and an optimistic outlook for the world.
Being a member of the OLHOC community allows your child the opportunity to be educated each day within a faith-centred environment where the Gospel values of Justice, Community, Respect, Empathy and Forgiveness are built into all of our actions and words. These core values are further supported by a comprehensive Social and Emotional Learning program that explicitly teaches social skills and emotional intelligence across all grades.
OLHOC offers a very well-resourced educational program to all students. Extra curricular activities support the development of students’ gifts and talents across a variety of pursuits including academic, sporting and cultural areas. OLHOC has a long history of valuing success and this is evident in all fields of endeavour.
Our Lady Help of Christians School is committed to high quality contemporary learning that is supported by committed and well-resourced staff. In an ever-changing society, 21st century learners need to be confident with technology, possess adaptive problem-solving skills, have the ability to work collaboratively and have a global perspective on issues. By using contemporary learning practices together with targeted technologically-enriched learning environments, we are confident that our children are well equipped to succeed beyond their schooling.
I thank you for taking the time to visit our website and sincerely hope that you are energised and inspired by what you see as you navigate around the site; as we are energised and inspired each day as we educate the leaders of the future.
